GPS has become a staple of the construction industry. With new GPS systems priced at less than $ 10k, it will not be long before every project manager and site foreman has one. This class will get you ready to start taking control of your site layout. We will start with a review of data types and sources, followed by a discussion of how GPS works, it's benefits & limitations compared to other measuring tools and a hands on session where attendees will use GPS to stake out a sample project.

You will learn how to use GPS for:
  • simple point staking: manholes, catch basins, radius points...
  • line staking: curbing, road centerlines, pipe runs.....
